Who is Bonny?
My journey to become a Health and Wellbeing Coach started officially back in 2013, but if I’m honest I think most things that have happened in my life have lead me to this point, so let me give you a bit of background.
I, like many women (and young girls) had dieted for most of my life, starting at the tender age of 16 with a well know diet shake in my bid to lose a few pounds, after about 3 days I couldn’t stomach it for breakfast anymore and promptly gave up with that idea!
I continued throughout my adult life trying to lose weight and signing up for the next new thing on the market, with it's promise of lasting results and that it would be the answer to all my problems. The trouble was they were not the answer, and instead lead me down a path of constant yoyo dieting, which took it's toll on my health and my metabolism to boot!
Anyway, fast forward to 2011 and my body had decided enough was enough and I found I could no longer lose weight by following these 'diet' plans and exercising, so I went to my Doctor begging for help; I was at the end of my tether, at an all-time low; eating to make myself feel better, then feeling fed up because I had put more weight on. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing wrong, so I didn’t have a clue how to put it right!
My Doctor was amazing and really supported me to understand how to eat properly (something that previous ‘diet’s had never done) and do the right type of exercise as well. I’m so lucky to have had his help as I know not all Doctors are like this.
Soon, the weight started to drop off and I was feeling great; people were asking me how I did it and I started to share the knowledge I had gained through educating myself more about food and exercise; I loved it and loved helping others too. The weight has stayed off ever since and I’ve never looked back.
I decided to study as a Nutritional Therapist and Life Coach which now enables me to combine these skills to help people like you, who just want to find a way to break out of the cycle of losing weight and then putting more back on, usually through a poor understanding of food and nutrition, and the beliefs that have been developed over time about yourself. I want to let you see that you have the strength to make the changes to help you lead a healthy fulfilling live forever.
In addition to this I have also become a Yoga Teacher and a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, which really enables me to provide a holistic approach to the support you need.
I've been featured in the local press and radio and have been a judge for the Nourish Awards in 2018 and 2019.
